Items Used: Jaded Blossom's Gnome Friends Yeti Die, Yeti Faces, Yeti to Party Stamp Set & Outline Dies, Winter Scenic Dies (for the trees), and Birthday Banner Dies (for the cupcake & presents).

I wanted to give that little yeti a birthday party in the snow. I put a sprinkle-covered cupcake in his hands, tucked a couple of presents into the snowbanks, and topped it all off with “Abominable Birthday Greetings.” That sentiment makes me smile every time I read it.

A birthday party in the snow

I started with a deep navy sky, then added a stitched yellow moon and two little gold stars. The snow-covered evergreens frame the yeti, and the layered snowbanks gave me a place to tuck in two presents with red bows. I love how those little pops of color peek out from the snow.

My favorite little detail

It’s the cupcake for me! The colorful sprinkles and bright pink wrapper are such a fun contrast to the yeti’s soft fur (white felt) and blue face. I also love how the stitching on the die-cuts shows up in the close-ups, especially along the curved snowbanks.

I had so much fun giving this little yeti his own birthday scene. Now I’m curious. If you were making a yeti card, what would you put in his hands?

Happy crafting,
